Language:

- identify antonyms, synonyms, and compound words in lists.
- use the four basic sentence structures in oral and written work
- demonstrate noun/verb agreement in sentences
- use correct capitalization and punctuation in different sentence structures
- edit sentence and stories for correct punctuation and capitalization
- compose stories with beginning, middle, and end.
Spelling:

- perform at 70% or better on weekly spelling tests

- use appropriate terminology to explain geography
- know primary and intermediate directions on a map and complete a compass rose
- know the continents and ocean of the world
Phonics:

- recognize the number of syllables inwords

- recognize and work with rhyming words, same sounding words, and contractions
